Privacy Notice
This notice describes the information Glen Lyon currently collects through the public website and the additional data that may be needed to operate an activity safely.
Who is responsible
Glen Lyon is responsible for personal information collected for enquiries, bookings and guided activities. Privacy questions can be sent to info@glenlyonenduro.co.za.
What we collect
The public booking-request form collects your chosen activity, preferred date, party size, name, email, phone number and any notes you choose to provide. A confirmed activity may also require guest details, emergency contacts, a signed waiver and safety-relevant medical information.
Why we use it
We use the information to answer your request, plan capacity, communicate about the visit, manage safety, keep booking and accounting records, and meet legal obligations. Medical information is requested separately and only where it is operationally necessary.
Sharing
Information may be shared with authorised Glen Lyon staff, guides and service providers who need it to deliver the booking, payment, communication or emergency response. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
Records are kept only for as long as needed for the booking, safety, legal and accounting purpose that justified collection. Sensitive fields must be access-controlled and encrypted where stored electronically. Test submissions should never contain real medical information.
Your choices and rights
You may ask what information we hold, request a correction or deletion where the law permits it, or object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator.
Location data
The public website does not record your location. The Glen Lyon guest app does, but only while you are on an activity you have booked and only between starting and finishing a recording. It is used to find you if something goes wrong, to time a run on a timed track, and to release the coordinates of protected heritage sites once you are standing at them.
Location is the most sensitive thing we hold about you, and an emergency alarm sends some of it — including health information, if you have given us any — outside Glen Lyon so that somebody can reach you. All of that is set out in full in the Location & Safety Data Notice, which you should read before booking a self-guided activity.
